Factions are composed of Realms and Player Formed Groups. Currently there are four major factions available. Players can choose a faction upon character creation or at a later time in their adventures. Characters can also change factions, though at a cost.

Alignments don't restrict you from choosing any of the factions. Just like in real life, there are all kinds of people in the factions, and they have to work around their differences.
