Spearpoint keep is a key strategic choke point between Dark Haven and the dried river bed. Since the dried river is just about the only way to get out of Dark Haven by foot, who controls the Spearpoint Keep controls who can walk out of the town and who can't. Big realms and smaller groups with strong warriors are always fighting over who has their flag over the bridge of Spearpoint.
